“And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.”

– Galatians 6:9

This verse has been a cornerstone of my life’s philosophy—a guiding light through times of hardship and triumph alike. On this cold winter day, as frost clings to the windows of Hawthorne Manor, I find its meaning reflected not only in my own journey but also in the paths of my two sons, Hunter and Cecil, both now proud officers of the British Army.

Hunter, resolute and steadfast, has always exemplified the values of discipline and perseverance that this passage embodies. From his earliest training days, his unwavering dedication has stood as a testament to the power of focus and commitment. As an officer, he leads with precision and purpose, carrying forth the virtues of duty and honor that are the backbone of our family.

Cecil, while taking a slightly different path, has reached the same noble destination. As the youngest, he was afforded a touch more freedom, allowing him to explore and question before solidifying his calling. Though his journey to the officer’s rank was shaped by a spirit of curiosity, he ultimately proved that perseverance and resolve can take many forms. Today, he serves with distinction, embodying a balance of tradition and innovation that complements his brother’s steadfast nature.

This morning, the three of us walked together across the frost-covered grounds of Hawthorne Manor, our green uniforms cutting through the winter’s stillness. As our boots crunched upon the frozen earth, I could not help but reflect on the unyielding march of time and the enduring nature of legacy. Each step reminded us of the patience required to nurture growth—be it in the land, in oneself, or in the bonds of family.

The Army has shaped Hunter and Cecil into the men they are today, but their strength of character was forged here, within these very walls. They are the living embodiment of the discipline and determination I have sought to instill in them since their youth. As brothers in arms and as sons, they stand as pillars of a legacy that extends beyond mere heritage—one built on purpose, unity, and an unshakable resolve to lead.

As I reflect on this year, I see in my sons not only the fruits of past efforts but also the promise of the future. Through their service, they uphold the values of our family and our nation, reminding me that perseverance is not merely a solitary endeavor but a shared bond that strengthens across generations.

Tonight, as the fire glows warmly within Hawthorne Manor, I take comfort in the knowledge that the foundations laid here will endure. My sons carry forward the legacy of this family, and with their combined strength, the path ahead is one of unwavering purpose and infinite potential.
